A: Why can't my employees clean the hoods?

NFPA 96 states that "the entire exhaust system shall be cleaned by a properly trained, qualified and certified company or persons." Work of this nature takes special tools, equipment and expertise to properly and thoroughly clean.

A: What should I look for when hiring a company?

You should look at training, certification, reputation, and years in business. Air Maintenance Inc. has 30 plus years of experience and has, through dedication to outstanding service and customer satisfaction, earned an exemplary reputation in the industry. Your vendor should adhere to and be certified by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard-96. Air Maintenance is certified by NFPA as well as International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association (IKECA) which provides objective & measurable ways to determine competency in the standardized practices and standards within the kitchen exhaust cleaning industry.

A: What do you clean?

Air Maintenance cleans not only the obvious kitchen view, but more importantly we clean the ENTIRE system from the roof fan and motor through the entire duct system to the hood filters and housing, inspecting and maintaining each integral component (replace and adjust belts, grease bearings and shafts ) and returning the duct interior to bare metal along the way…always meeting and exceeding NFPA 96 standards. Finally we clean and polish the hood inside and out along with baffle filters and the linkage for the fire suppression system cleaned and inspected. You can be confident that along with before and after photographs we will advise you of any issues found so you may make appropriate corrections keeping your facility, employees and customers safe. If applicable, we will offer additional services including installation and cleaning of grease containment at the roof, duct access panel installation to allow your certified technician proper access to ductwork and baffle filter exchange program.
